The reason I think people pick 7 is because it was the very first really freaking long one, and it just wasnt the same luster with the other 4diskers.
Finaly Fantasy is a good game, but i think they went a little far with making about 12 of them. FF will always be a legendary game.
true, but there is a limit. if they make more. it will just be ridiculous. i want them to somehow make it for xbox. breach a contract or something just get it to all systems. especially final fantasy 7
6 is by far the best FF game ever. It came out around the time i got into RPGs, so it's really one of the first i even played, and I still play it to this day.
I voted FF7, its the most commercial one, but also the best imo ... i haven't played 10 yet so cant be certain. I also enjoyed FF3 on the SNES
I PLAYED BASICALLY MOST Final fantasys out there I have played 7,8,9,X and X-2 I thought FFX was the best one out there but when i bought FF7 from the shop after watching the AC film it just amazing - The storyline flow, the actions, the summons etc Its just top - FF7 is first for me , then its X and just to state - Each Final Fantasy game apart from the sequel of X and X-2 is completely different storylines and characters so they can go up to wherever they want but has to be amazing quality game - They earn so much for FF games and still do so they can go up XX if they like but time costs money also They get money after it as well though I  FF games
I voted for (probably the only person who did...) was Final Fantasy IV (4) because I've never played any of the 3D ones so I chose my favorite 2D one. I've only played 1,2, and 4 for the GBA and 2 for the SNES which is really the forth one in Japan.(this kind of stuff gets confussing...)
Well since I play all of the Final Fantasy games, I say that Final Fantasy VII is the best, why you ask ? it has the highest sales number, and just look what a jump on graphic engine squaresoft made back then ( now it's square enix.. I know ) . Final Fantasy VI was made for the snes, then in 1997 Final Fantasy VII came with a whole new 3d platform. It was because of the high sales of Final Fantasy VII that's squaresoft got enough money to exist, because they had financial problems back then. So if you would look it in a industral and marketing way then Final Fantasy VII was indeed the best. To look it in a gamer perspective, Final Fantasy VII has a very good story plot, one of the first games back then were your villain had a ''past'' and a story about him, infact he wasn't just your odinairy bad guy, he was turned mad by people. Then in late 1998 when Final Fantasy VIII showd up people had high expections for that series, it failed though, Final Fantasy VIII was to mature for most of the players, squaresoft then realized that the public they were aiming for was still children, then Final Fantasy IX came, personally I don't like it, to childlish, but it sold good among the kids. Also I would like to add, Final Fantasy for the nintendo and super nintendo were great to, really enjoy playing them back in the good old day's.
