ok so its boxing day and i have jack to do so i spend an hour or so with the screw driver and the vaccum cleaner in front of my computer.

with my recent rant about the heat problems ( i couldnt take it anymore!!) i decided to take everything apart and clean it out.

after an hour or so of hard work and dust in my mouth im finally done (the cpu fan was choking with hairs and dust). i put everything back and turned on my pc.

and guess what everything runs alot smoother and faster now, i ran NFS most wanted and it doesnt even load anymore like it used to (2mins to be excat) it just jumps straight to the menus.

so if you got nothin to do for the christmas holidays i suggest u do what i did and experience lif with faster loading.

I just leave the side off my Case... helps with airflow, cooling, power, etc. Plus I've got easy access to my parts to replace/upgrade/repair. I'll prolly do a massive cleaning in a week or so.

I do the same thing with one panel. Only problem is that my computer sits right on the floor so I should probably go and clean everything out soon.

Sorry, but don't listen to this post. Cases are designed to keep the ariflow how it is suppose to circulate around your mobo and cpu. Leaving the case open allows more dust, and screws up the proper air flow. NEVER, leave you case off longer than need be... and if you're not doing some hardware upgrades or repairs, you shouldn't have it open in the first place.

Yea 4nub1s is right, the amount of dust that would collect would be terrible.

my case has the side window as mesh so that is really nice, i have to clean the dust out every once and awhile but the ventilation is perfect for overclocking.

Yeah i was thinking of doing that one of these days. I allready took the case out of the desk, and what I always thought to be some kind of grey pannel actually appears to be dust sucked in through the ventilation :P

You'd be surprised. I just checked, very little dust anywhere on the mobo, other than a tiny bit built up on the processor keatsink/fan.
