Where can I download a program that tells me what my Motherboard is, and supports? like I got an AGP 4x/8x x700 Radeon vid card today and I dunno if ti supports it.
says it should be, but you might need to adjust the aperature size in BIOS at one point if it doesnt' do it automatically, FYI. also, another way to easily tell if your comp can handle a card is to open the case... it really is that simple for the most part.
Yep, I called my Grandma's friend's son lol (He works at a computer company and builds computers and stuff) and he said he'd install my video card i think tommorow. It will be awsome because i can play source and half life 2
why don't you install it yourself? unplug the computer, touch a metal part of the case to make sure you are grounded, open the case. stick the card into the one orange or brown slot, it should stand out from the others and is typically at the top of the slots towards the middle of the board. then take a small screw(should come with the card) and screw the card in, close the case plug everything in, and then start up windows and pop in he CD that came w/ the card and ti is installed, easy as that. You may want to try to uninstall previous GFX card drivers though.

what DS said. so long as you don't do anything overly stupid, like say spill water on it, or shock the board with electricity can anything go wrong. That does not mean you should intentionally abuse a computer, but it should help you realize it's not so foreign a thing. the hardest part of it is often opening the computer case to be fully honest.
