Ok, I just bought a Netgear Gigabit PCI Adaptar : 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet GA311.. To put that in similar for it's a Network Adapter or Network InterFace Card. Ok, so It came with instructions but I didn't bother reading until after puttingthe card in the PCI slot.. Then when I read the directions it says Put the Installation CD first then shut down computer and put the card in.. Is there any way to make that " New Hardware Window " pop up again? I was installing it a whole different way :\..
I've installed things the wrong way before and wasn't a problem. If it still doesn't work, just uninstall it, and fit the card again. dja
Ok, I uninstalled the disk, let me try to restart my computer and see what happens, BRB. Ok, Whenever I restart my computer I always get this : But when I click it nothing comes up, so what should I do, take out the card and put it back in?
Sorry for the double post, but I took it out and put it in again, and I tried reinstalling it again with the disc..HELPPPPP
go to Control Panel-->add new hardware If your lucky it will find the hardware and install the driver off the cd rom that you have in your drive.
What do you meen " If your lucky "..I want it to work.. Edit : Let me see if the driver installed incorectly.. It's installed corectly but there is no tab for it on the task-bar.. And when I try to access Xbox Live it says DNS Adresses could not be reached..Please help someone..
So basically you want to hook your xbox up to your pc and use it's internet connection to go on xbox live. I'm pretty sure that you need an ethernet crossover cable, not just a regular one. Have a look on the xbox website for some help. dja
I had this problem too. Just run the new hardware wizard and make sure that you have "[ ]Have disk" and "[ ]Try Windows Update" checked. It may be your driver also. Try updating your computers drivers and see if it works.
Do you think i'm that stupid trieng to bridge without a stupid crossover cable? .. And anyway, wheres the new hardware wizard..?
OK, this is what to do man: Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove HardWare --> Follow the instructions given. Just try that and if it doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas.
