I am currently trying to reinstall Windows XP Home edition on my Dell Dimension 8300 from 2 years ago. I am using the recovery disc that came with the system to do so. The problem I am having is that everytime it starts to install i get an error message saying that Windows did not install the product library and cannot continue. When I try to restart my computer it goes right back into the install and will not let me do anything. I am stumped any help would be appreciated. BTW I hate DELL now!!
Thats irrelevant because he has a factory built pc. Stick the recovery disc in again and tell it to do a full format/recovery whatever it calls it.
I can't tell it to format/full install now, it just goes straight into the installation process.... can anyone tell me how to stop it from installing?
Yeah it still won't stop trying to install, i am really not looking forward to calling Dell, and I hope I won't have to buy a new HD for it. .DeFuZioN i will send you creds and rep in a moment...
