Skylines can be imported by numerous companies, such as MotoRex, but it costs a lot. You either have to get it registered as a right hand drive car, or get the side of the steering wheel switched. Theyre not being sold in the US though. You have to get them shipped from Japan, or England if you find a good seller. You stupid people, you dont have to switch the engine block! My 240SX has the Japanese engine, the SR20DET, and it's far more powerful than the American KA24. The Skyline has a powerful engine, but what would you switch it with?! LOL. Theres no American Skyline engine. Hahah... Stock R34- Looks nothing like new mustangs...
wow, what a crappy car... how much hoarsepower dose it have... cuz i got a mustle care ( 1978 malibu ) with 450 hoarse... and ive beaten a skyline easy... so there not that great... then again, i have about 10 grand into my engine..
If you got the right money, a skyline can pack more than 500 easy. I saw one at an auto show that had 1001 Hp ^_^
i've always wondered if u could switch the engine with an infiniti g35 , since they basically have the same name and all. inifini g35 = nissan skyline in japan.
the Infiniti G35 is based off the same platform as the current Nissan 350Z and shared an almost indentical engine, the 3.5l V6 offering 280BHP (206 KW). Nissan is looking to put a V8 in the next Skyline GTR so buyers dont cross shop the new GTR and the already popular 350Z
The next generation of Skylines will indeed be sold in the US, and Nissan is promising that it will not be watered down like the Infiniti G35 was, but rather be the exact same as it's Japanese counterpart. As for the older Skylines, they are now no longer legal at all in the United States. Awhile back a company called Motorex had gone through the trouble of meeting the minimum requirements to pass the cars as street legal with crash and emissions standards, but they can no longer do this (any cars they did in the past are still considered street legal as a grandfather clause). Nobody can import a Skyline for street use...NOBODY It is possible to import one as a racetrack only car, but there's quite a bit of red tape that make it too impractical. Now some people have stated in other forums that you can disassemble the car, import it as "parts" and then have it re-assembled with a title and registered, not realizing that the car is NOT street legal, but rather you just have paperwork that says you are the registered owner, nothing more. So you're only hope of getting one of those oh-so-overhyped Nissan Skylines in this country is to hope that someone who has one imported and modified by Motorex when they were allowed to do it is willing to sell their car, which is rather unlikely. But in all reality, why the hell would anyone bother with one anyways? The GT-R only came with 240hp at the wheels. Add in to that the GTR Skylines are heavy as hell, with all the luxury items and AWD and you have an OK performer that is alot slower than many stock street legal cars that you can get for alot less $$$ in this country. S**t, for what a Skyline would run you you could get faster cars like the Toyota Supra, Mustang GT, GTO and the Charger. You could also buy an SRT-4, EVO, WRX sti, RX-7 or many other cars that have about the same stock hp as the GT-R Skyline and just spend $2-$4K on an aftermarket turbo modification that would make it slaughter a GT-R. Even the Z-tuned GT-R's that Nissan made are crap because they are vastly overpriced for the performance. For what one of those damn things costs I'd rather start looking into some high end European sports cars personally. But to each their own. I guess alot of people fell in love with the Skyline because of F&F, Gran Turismo, and the fact that it has an exotic appeal due to it's rarity in the US, but to me it's overrated.

LOL the new Skylines are gonna cost a fortune. At least 40K or up. In Japan theyre about the equivalent of a Corvette. By the way, just for general knowledge, the Skylines use an engine by the name of an RB25DE, and im some cases the RB25DETT, which is the turbo version. The engine is an inline 6 DOHC, so you know. Although the G35 is the Japanese skyline, the engines have very little in common. For example, the valve variables are much larger on the Skylines RB25DE, along with the cam shfts gear to gear ratio, but those are small things that can be tuned how you want. The only reason I know any of this is because I used to live in Japan. I also did some research. The USD price for a Skyline is roughly 90K. Good luck to all you 16 year olds who want to afford the concept when it comes out. One more thing! Someone posted that a Skyline would run slower than a Supra. The Skyline ways 3600lbs curb weight, supra is 3500lbs. Woooh...big difference. Glad you caught that, pal...
skyline launches faster than Supra dur due to the AWD but the Supras potential comes to a halt at around 600BHP coz even with more power it has trouble puttin it to the ground due to the RWD setup so the increase in HP is kind of useless.

doesnt matter how much HP Supra has, in a drag when the lights goes off the Supra is still smoking tires in 1st gear while the GTR has already launched off.
