Did you plug it into the right spot?
Did you plug in it into the power supply?
Did you drop it or set it down on an unprotected surface?
Did you touch the power supply or computer frame before you took it out?

There can be many reasons why it isn't working.

    Hmm..

well one possibility that I can think of is that you may not have touched a metal surface before touching any hardware, which could of messed up some parts, mattering on how old the parts are. Other than that, just make sure everything is placed in right, nothing is look or anything..and if its been sitting there for years clean out the dust :P

Like chronic said, theres tons of things that could have happaned, like if you were on maybe a carpet when you opening it and built up some charge while doing so and accidently touched something in there while charged.

Your computer should boot up I think even without an actual graphics card, you'd just get error beeps from the motherboard if it doesnt have any graphic rescources. Does you motherboard have integrated graphics? if it does, plug the monitor into that with the graphics card disconnected to see if you broke the card somehow.

And your sure the power supply is connected to the motherboard, right?

which port is your monitor plugged into. As you have a graphics card, there should be two places to plug the monitor into on the back. Try taking the plug out and connecting it to the other one.

There should be another monitor port though, from the integrated graphics

swap the battery on the motherboard, it tends to discharge after a while if it isn't used.

Hmm there are many probls possible, but i suggest unless you are exp with comp hardware its not worth fixing it, just buy a new or or call tech support to your house.
