Well, I've still been looking for a card and christmas is near. My computer right now is a dell, and it's AGP compatible. If I bought this http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...3&Sku=E145-7810 (It's a 7800GT + some mother board) Would I be able to put that mobo in and would everything still work? Or would I need to buy new parts all together? Help is appreciated
NO because your dell is Intel and the motherboard is AMD. Also your dell probably has a propreitary form factor so you can't upgrade the mobo or power supply which you would have to do to use that video card.
You dont even know if his DELL is Intel or not He hasnt stated Ok state the following The processor you got atm ie 1. The pins - for AMD 939? 2. The name - AMD64 woteva The Form factor ie 1. ATX ? normally ATX but check by researching Dell The memory you got 1. The pins again - 184-pin? 2. The speeds - DDR266/333/400 From this i or other members can tell if the other components will still work - Basically i need full detail of your PC spec The motherboard you going to get I presume will be better than the AGP due to PCI-e x16 slots , Supports 4GB, and basically supporting X2 dual core AMD Btw just a note - Dell is crap - Better off building from scratch ie get everything on its own - the memory, processor, HD everything
Actually all Dells are Intel right now. Also Dells formfactor along with HP are propretiary SAME with their PSUs. So there is NO way you can upgrade a Mobo on a dell.
I got this dell about 2 years ago.. I'm building a new computer in about a year or two. Oh well, I guess I'm just going to get an AGP card
hhmm they changed it Thy use to have AMD cores Well All ill say is Dell are not good so i sugest you build from the beginning its simple but only problem some people face is the amount of money
