Half-life 2 Restarts Computer When I Run It ?

    hi i got half-life 2 and i installed it and when i go to run it, it crashs and restarts my computer for no reason my system specs's are -

    Geforce 6200 OC AGP with 256 MB
    AMD 64 Athlon
    200GB hard Drive
    1 GB of RAM

    whats going on i mean i click the icon screen goes balck then restarts computer.

    overheating, most likely. check your parts, are they very very hot?

    have too many processes running in the background....

    if not, maybe reinstall?

    nothing in back groud

    and i tryed it now and it showed previews so i hit space and it restarted computer

    this is what it says after restart

    i have reinstalled it now its updating

    #1 Turn off error reporting. It means nothing.

    #2 It's most likely your graphics card drivers. Either rollback or get the newest ones out there.(Always go to the makers website)

    #3 Some of your settings in HL2 might be too high or something not supported(I doubt it, you comp looks high tech) never hurts to check. Since you've reinstalled, this shouldn't be anything to check.

    Yeah DL it, then just run the .EXE, let it do its thing. And restart when it's done.





    OMG NVIDIA NEVER UPDATES!!!!!!!! Used to seeing ATI update every month :D

    No, use the program Driver Cleaner and remove all your gfx card drivers. Make sure your mobo drivers are up to date. Then re-install the latest updates for your gfx card which is 81.98 I think.

    I have this problem in most new games.

    Proably something to do with my processor running at 70 degrees :blink:
