Most of the time your internet is too slow because you have all of that junk on there. Sacrafice some of the applications.

you really need to tell us stuff..

What connection do you have? DSL? Cable? Dial-up?

did you do a spyware/adware/virus check? do you have your drive almost full? did you do a defrag on your harddrive?

okay for the internet, download firefox from here if you havent allready: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

now each time you start it up press ctrl+alt+del, and the consol will come up, on xp if you have it select prossesses, then rightclick on firefox, set priority, real time. You will have to do this each time, now for the real speed up (only need to do it once

Write about:config in as URL in firefox. Then you get lots of configurations.

Write network.http in the filter window up top to decrease the swarm of configs.

Double click on network.http.pipelining to set it as true.

Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests as 30 (then Firefox will do up to 30 enquiries each time).

    Set network.http.proxy.pipelining as true.

Right click anywhere in teh list and do New -> Integer, set the name as nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set the value to 0.

    Close and reopen Firefox

Now, only if you have windows xp pro, go to run and type in gpedit.msc. it should bring up a screen titled 'Group Policy'. This is used by network and system admins to change and restrict certain functions on networks. On this screen click on Administrative Templates' under the Computer Configuration tree, now go to the Network settings by clicking on Network

In the Network settings, click on 'QoS Packet Scheduler' and then double click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth. Put it on enabled and put the bandwidth % on 100.

right thats your net spead up.

now. for your computer this program will tweak it for you, just run it: http://www.tune-up.com/download/tu2006/.

hope this helps, i will post this as a guide soon if it helps

On my windows 95 pc that i upgraded to a 98, i swear it has to have at least 1million cases of spyware, i loaded adware on the comp, and adware just shut down...

^that could be due to viruses also. viruses that shut down any program checking for it or spyware. for you, just backup everything and reinstall.
