    SC Awards 2006 Finalist

With over 1,300 product and service nominations, from over 330 competing companies globally, the annual Secure Computing Awards are the world’s leading awards program for the information security industry and thanks to you, and the votes you placed, Avast! Antivirus has successfully proved its worth by being listed as one of only four finalists in its category.

The SC Awards program spans the US, Asia, and the UK so the competition is tough. The SC Awards are composed of two sections. The ‘Reader Trust Technology Awards’ which are voted on by SC readers in the US and European regions, and by the SC Awards Council which comprises of a group of carefully selected senior CSOs; and the Asian Pacific awards and other categories including the ‘Professional Awards’ which are judged by a panel of the industry’s top talents.

By recognizing technical excellence and professional achievement across a variety of different categories, the SC Awards is a truly unique program developed to bring attention to the industry’s top products, and to highlight the professionals that have both created them, and use them within their companies. These industry achievements are acknowledged during two exciting awards ceremonies which take place this year at Fairmont, San Jose, USA on February 14th, 2006, and at Grosvenor House, London, England on April 25th, 2006.

The finalists in the US category have now been announced, with the European category finalists list due to be released in February! The antivirus category finalist list comprises of the following contenders:

    1.ALWIL Software - Avast! Antivirus
    2.McAfee Inc. - McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i
3.Symantec Corporation - Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0
4.Aladdin Knowledge - Systems Aladdin eSafe
