I am a newb at 3D modeling, dont know anything, I would like to know what program to buy(The easiest one, dont really care about price unless a reasonable price for software...nothing in the thousands or realy high hundreds.) Some tutorials on how to do basic things like making structures, bodys, coloring in things, making objects. The person that helps me the most will get like 30 credits or something. Allright thanks.

When I can be bothered to do 3D, I use Poser usually......but I haven't done any 3D modelling in a few months.

c4d is just an acronym for cinema 4d ;)

id recommend one of the free ones, it will help you find out if this is the area you really want to prsue or not.

If you want to start somewhere, I recomment starting with Blender or Wings 3D. Both of them are free and allow you to figure out the basics (such as working with vertices, edges, or polygons, extrusions, beveling, etc.). But, the rendering those programs offer is awful at best, so to get any good results (as well as to learn how to texture your objects) you're basically gonna have to go with more high-end stuff, which unfortunately runs you in the thousands of dollars.

If you have about $250 to spare, you can get an educational version of Lightwave 3D 8, the only difference from its retail version being that you cannot use the program for commercial purposes. That's the program I use and I'm pretty happy with it.
