Yeah, but this one involves less skill. If you take a look at the Splash, its a simple Render, Merged into the Splash with Text added - Actually, nevermind, I won't bother seing as fairness comes in many ways >_< an it'd be sort of greedy makin' it only renderers.

It actually looks very nice on there, but I'd like to see a video game render on it. If I were a new user and saw that instead of a well-known video game character, I would view GR a little differently.
I think that dragon rules. It will take up more BW then halo but i have fast internet so it doesnt bother me. it will be resized so it wont take that long for 56kers aswell. Arbiter
i dont think that is a good idea for the front picture 1. its not a GAME RENDER (www.gamerenders.com) 2. its someones piece of artwork, even though kazuya got permission to render it, i wouldnt want someone using my artwork like that on their website. 3. i dont like the render

I like the idea of a new picture. but i think the dragon isn't the best choice. A competetion would be nice though. I also like the idea of using a picture from kazuya, because he is allmost the best-known member over here. And he is one of the best renderers on GR. So it would be a great tribute to Kazuya. But there are more people like him, so it wouldn't be fair to the rest of them. Maybe a compiled picture is the best solution there? I also think it shouldn't be a render only, because GR is more active in sig-making than at rendering (i think). And pictures like sigs, look better than a render only. So i vote yes to, make a new entry picture. but i vote no to, use kazuya's dragon.
lolol, I've got permission to do "what I want" with the picture as long as I don't claim it as my own! Not my picture? Fine..... I'll just hunt out another one, but I stay by my initial suggestion on making it members must/b] use a render that they've rendered are the only ones that are allowed to enter as its sort of unfair to us if some dood/doodette whos never rendered in his/her uses our render which we worked hard to extract and wins. Sorry, I know it sounds unfair to the sig makers an other designers, but if you let everyone enter, I know for a fact us renderers will have a seriously little chance of winning.
Kazuya you can't win everything. This is a GRAPHICS site. When it comes to graphics, if there's going to be a contest then everyone gets to participate. Personally if someone makes a great design and uses (for example) one of my renders then that's awesome, well done. But if I make a design and it's not nearly as good as one of the other members then I don't want to win. It's called a community for a reason. I don't want to sound like an ass, but everytime I see you post it's always about YOU and how you're "the best." Let other people have a chance. If there's a contest, EVERYONE should be in it. It doesn't really matter whut render it is, sure the name hints "GameRenders" that they're are "renders" of all types. Also, the dragon render is based from a game :lol: Also, no offense RZN, but I encourage and make a lot of good upbeat posts, I only talk about myself when someone "challenges" my skill level. I ain't a big headed person that goes around saying "Haha! I'm the best!!" - I'm just proud of whut I've achieved Anyways, like I said, I know it sounds greedy that renderers should only be able to enter, but its my opinion on how it should be done, as well, the renderers did render it! An' I don't remember the last time a "LEGENDARY AWESOME GREAT GODLY" Designer made a "LEGENDARY AWESOME GREAT GODLY" background and uploaded the PSD File and let everyone have it for free an use it how they wanted to... See where I'm going with this? I know its unfair, but thats my opinion on how the contest should be, but I know I'm not going to win this arguement nor the tournament itself. As well, (Do I even need to explain? Its pretty clear why) (I suck at designing :lol: ) Anywayz, I think this thread can be locked as all its doing is causing silly arguements >_<
