If you haven't heard of him before, he is an Australian citizen that got caught with heroin in a Singapore airport and was detained, and was hung in Singapore today. He was 25 years old

This story really disturbed me. I felt like I was reading about another hostage in Iraq getting beheaded. Just someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No matter how I look at this, I just can't believe that they actually killed this man. Did his punishment honestly fit the crime?

Sometimes harsh punishment is inplace to make people not want to risk the punishment. As in this case, I dont think a man should die for drugs, but if that is what the law handed down.

Australia didnt come to his aid? If he had been an American, he would have been deported back here for punishment.

Wait. He was caught using or selling the drugs ? Nevertheless, the punishment is a bit too much for that... Also, since when do people actually hang as an execution method ?

he did it for his brother who was in dept $25,000. and if you read the article. He was not seeling "crack" to kids. He had it to sell it to other dealers. 500 grams is one ----load. 500 x $80 = $40,000 . He would get his brother out of dept.

Good, drugs are bad. Especially heroin. I think he got what he deserved. Had it been marijauna, that would have been a bit harsh, but heroin... enough said.

There are other ways for making money fast, smuggling drugs to a country were you can get death for doing so is probably one of the stuidiest.

In the end, i'd have to agree tho. It takes a major punishment and the life of just one human being to really scare the others that may do the same things and make them change their minds.

Selling heroin destroys the lives of many people around the world each day. If he was a trafficker then he got his just reward.

No matter who you are, if you're caught violating the laws of the place you're at, you're subjected to punishment according to that country's laws. Althought execution might have been a bit harsh...but hey...China executes people for drug dealing too.

I don't care what kind of drug he was smuggling or what he was doing with that ----ing ----, but this is just my opinion. I don't think anyone has the right to take the life of another human being unless that person had taken the life of another person.
