If i downloaded and installed multiple anti viruses and spyware removal tools and stuff like that to keep my computer safe, will my PC run okay? i know that running more than one firewall can make your system unstable, but is it the same as anti viruses? or can i have as many security tools as i want installed?
I dont know.. usually when you run or even install multiple anti-virus programs they conflict with each other .. like mcafee wont run if u have norton .. neways its not harmfull it'll just cancel the other out .. as for anti-spyware .. i have 4 running so they cant be a problem ^_^
Spyware- you can have as many as you want, the more the better. AntiVirus- you can have multiple AV's, though Norton and McAfee do not like each other. AVG and Avast work well together. all you have to do is set both so it will not scan each other's folder. if you do not do this, AVG might find a virus in Avast's quarantine, or vise versa. Firewall- I have had a few problems with this. you can have multiple FW's, but it will block everything. I suggest just one, either ZoneAlarm or Sygate. (your router's and window's firewall should block 90% of the stuff anyway...) for AV's and FW's, if you have 1gig of ram, it should go smoothly. I use Avast, AVG, and Sygate, and have 512mb ram, and it runs smoothly.
