lol I got a japanese psp and it was fine with my US games.
How do I know it's japanese?

1- my cousin from China broguht it there and gave it FOR FREE to me as a present
2- the O key is really the X key, and vice versa, most japanese games have this kind of function.

it will work. i asked my cuz whos in japan working at some tech place. he has a psp and i sent some games to him from here. your good to go

 

Inversely, Jap games do not work on US psp. It needs to be "tweaked".
