Another great guitarist, Michael Amott from Arch Enemy. The solo in "Ravenous" has to be one of the greatest ever! http://www.digitalmetal.com/media/Ravenous_Hi_250k.wmv
Skillwise i chose page because he is the best on the list next to vaughn. but my favorite guitarist is dimebag, R.I.P , you are well missed This thursday is one year from when he was shot.
I say "Slash" from Guns N' Roses, Snakepit, Velvet Revolver, and alot of other side projects with artists including Michael Jackson. He may not be the "best" at playing the guitar, but his style is very unique, great showmanship, and he was able to get his career back, which most people never do. So I would say either him or Tom Morello.
your all wrong those guys cant keep up with the best band ever between the buried and me man there riffs are freakin amazing and they play so fast and differnt stuff all the time and there newest cd is the best with all the awesome solos now the guy that said the guitarist from arch enemy has a point to that guys pretty good
eddie van halen no contest. That guy is amazing, he was also listed as #1 guitarist in guitar world or sum magazine
John Petrucci is the man. Listen to Under A Glass Moon one of the best solos ever. Flea is a bassist but if you thinking of John Frusciante he's pretty good.
lol EVH is winning next to Jimmy Page.... never thought id see the day... much less to John Petrucci... who like those others said is amazing
Definately Robert Fripp, Red is the greatest 7 minute guitar solo in histroy, and everythink King Cimson has amazing guitar
it was a close run between Jimmy page and Frank zappa for me Frank Zappa is amazing why wasnt david gilmour on there? i kind of agree with you on that one. distortion and such. but i still think hendrix was one of the best guitar innovaters. TOM MORELLO!
