I suggest buying Black and White 2. You will have more fun with the main content, and side-quests. Yes, GW is online. It is a free-to-play MMO.

guild wars is an online MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online). You will be running around in a world with a few 100 other people and then do "instances" with some of them (up to 7 others I believe).

The fee for GW is free, you aren't paying anything. You only pay for the game and future expansions.

B&W2. Haven't played it yet. I used to play B&W and loved it.

I think it depends on how you want to play, if you don't feel you want to hang out and do things with other ppl, go for B&W2. If you want to get your first taste of a MMO, go for G&W.

Me personally, neither of them as I am to busy in WoW :D

I would go with GW, it's actually an MMORPG, not just an MMO. GW is online, and is a highly skill based game.

the creators of GW (former employee's of Blizzard) gave it a different title, not sure what it is tho :(

So hence why I didn't put RPG behind it. Also, and this is from my point of view. I don't see GW as a RPG. there is some story in it. But it's more based on doing an instance and follow a set story line. You can't go your own way and do something else.

If GW didn't have that restriction I might consider getting it and tinker with it. Other MMORPG's such as EQ2, WoW, AO, Eve online allow you to take your own path and create your own little story line.

once more, this is my opinion :)

I have bought both. I got bored with both Guild wars after about 4 or 5 months and then B7W2 after about a month. Great games just a little repetitive

Guildwars is bigger, so there will be more people, so I'd play guildwars.

In my opinion GW doesn't deserve the titel MMORPG.
I know its online, but I wouldn't say that its Massive, while doing quests you will be with 7 other people max, only in the cities you will see and meet other people.

So you could say that while your in a city it's a MMORPG, and when your doing quests its a MORPG.

But thats only how I think about it =)
