I have experience with both of them, and I have concluded that Iframes are only good for portfolio sites, because you cannot offer direct links to an iframe page and see the main page through which the iframe is viewed through. For example, my site uses iframes (it won't next update): http://www.silentserpent.clanerz.com/
But, look what happens when I give a link to my renders page: http://www.silentserpent.clanerz.com/renders.htm.

I've used Iframes for a few years mainly because they were simple and easy to add. However i'm lovin DIV's a lot better now. They work exactly like Iframes but have a lot more features you can add. Iframes are good for starters, but nothing is easier then full CSS.

i just made a tutorial on SSI.. its amazing and really easy to use if your host supports it...

and yeah, SilentSerpent, you CAN give a direct link to your renders page but it wont show up with everything else because thats just how IFRAMES work, they are not "search engine friendly" either.. iframes are their OWN individual pages and they dont include the code from the main layout on your site

as freak said... use css and div-tags it is much more flexible, Only problem I've got is the browser that browsers, IE and Mozilla, interpret different, so you will have to make browser specific styles if you wan it to be displayed exactly the same way in each browser.

The iframe solution is obsolete, and tables requires hacks like the css, and the future is seperating design from content, and the only way you can do that 100% is by using css.

just my humble opinion on the subject... :D

I know you can give direct links to iframe pages, and that everything else doesn't show up, just needed to word it differently lol :P So, to reword what I said above, don't use iframes unless you are making a sig-gallery portfolio site.
