I used the eraser, used it at like 9px and at some spots 3px & 1px. Am I doing it right?

I dunno... I'm using the lasso tool, but it should work with the eraser as well.

Tho, you better ask experienced members. I myself have only one render yet... just as you ;)

Yeah sorry about that, I couldn't see it because the checkerboard didnt bring it up and after I had posted it and then put it into a sig I realised.

I'm not so l33t, but i can give you some advise.

Extract tool and Pen-tool are both great tools to make a premium cut. But it's not all about the tool you use. You need to put a lot of time in it, and you need a good eye for detail. Because you work when zoomed in like 600% and sometimes even 1200%. You need to know how the picture looks like at normal size, and remember the color-differences. In the beginning you need a lot of zooming in and -out to make sure that you erase the right parts. But sometimes you see the differences even when you zoomed in at 1200%. So the first one allways looks like crap, but you'll get better when you gain more experience.

Here are some of my examples:

My first render, did it with eraser:

A render i did 2 weeks after the first one, i used extraction tool on this:
    http://www.imagexoom.com/uploads/warcraft_samwise012cpng.png

2 of my best, also done with extraction tool:

    http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/8678/ga...ersion223hd.png

    My first pen-tool render:

As you can see, i got better over time. Now allmost all of my renders are premium quality. I liked working with extraction tool, but it was so time-consuming, that i had to use an other tool.

Yeah, i would use the Pen Tool instead of the eraser. Alot easier apart from the hair.

Oh yeah, and LA-384, it's hard to see how well you did the renders cause of the white background, but the Warcraft one looks superb!
