ok im having some troubles. Firstly i can only get 5kbps on Napster. And i have a 4mbps connection. but if i download at other place i will get normal speeds. im with telewest broadband. and my speed is confirmed with various online tests (4mbps) i also have the same trouble with streaming. whats going on :S
yeah i guess ill try reseting my modem. i dont really want to ring isp. there are things that need to be kept secret :S
Napster only? Check the preferences for something about download speed (like max amount for example) If its only Napster and no other programs it shouldnt really be your connection I think..more of something to do with napster
If everything is slow and you downloaded alot this month you could have been shaped to slower speeds. If above is not the case make sure its not your firewall. And lastly it could just be napster, maybe they have a support forum or something?
Contact your ISP ifs its all around slowness, they should move your connection or do something to speed it up, and if they dont, tell them to do so

Firewall completely stops you from getting traffic anyway, so that won't be the case. Shaped is unnatural because um..napster or other "legal" programs don't alter your settings without authorization from you first. I don't know the solution, but lol..
wow just think I'm a dumbass. yeah! If his firewall settings where altered it could effect traffic to the programs not completely block them out as programs use various ports for traffic. For example you need 4 ports open to get a certain speed in a program and only one is open your speed is poor (happens with my bittorrent). The shaping thing was NOT MEANT ABOUT THE PROGRAM!!! I meant his isp could have shaped him for downloading too much.
