    Tight race!

I'm saying no because to me this seems about superiority and revenge. It's a war to show that the US won't sit down when something happens to their country. But if they didn't do anything. I doubt it would've happened.

Okay people! Stop saying it was about the oil! Its not!

Daemonsabre, do you live in the middle east or have you just talked to people who moved here from the middle east? If you are just talkin to people that moved here form the middle east all your information is biased. Try talkin to people that actually live there, alot of them are alot happier now. They have no saddam! They don't have to worry about being taken from their beds in the middle of the night because they say something bad about the government earlier that day. Its not as bad as the Arab News, British News and the US News make it out to be. 2000 soldiers isn't very much considering its been going on for two years.

Sadly, some people fail to realize that the UN is pretty much useless. They haven't really done much for a long time. Hell, US has the right to ignore the UN when they feel compelled. They fecking fund 50% of the damn organization. When the UN fails to act, somebody's gotta step up to the plate and do something.

US gets put in a very hard position, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Say the never went to war and we got another 9/11. Guess what? People would complain that the government should have done something about it because they had "information" on a possible attack/threat. In this case, the US took the upper hand and took out that threat before there could be another 9/11.

My cousin is in the army, his parents are proud of him. He is fighting for his family, his friends and his country. Thats how alot of families feel, its their sons/daughters choice to be there, whether they like it or not so why not believe in your children's ideals and help them out. Same goes with the rest of our country critizing everything, you aren't helping. Soldiers lose moral when they have no support, hence they don't fight as well and they die faster. You can say that the news is helping kill our soldiers..

About the whole Saddam not doing anything wrong...god...don't get me started.

A point i'd like to bring up is...all the money saddam got from the oil he put into making these massiv palaces and funding terrorist cells. Now! All that money can be put into the economy and give it a boost once it gets all set up. Many of the Iraqi's don't like the situation they are in right now but guess what, the smart ones are looking to the future and living life to make their children's lives better.

Finally someone (that I don't know) agrees with me. We are few and far between, my friend.

I think it still would have happened because of Sadam and his threats of weapons of mass destruction. The invasion doesnt have anything to do with 9/11, so please refrain from ignorance. We just need to pull our troops out and nuke and napalm the whole place.

Well the fact is that 9/11 should never have happened in the first place.
Years and years led up to the attack.
I believe back in 1998 Bin ladden made an announcement that he will attack the U.S. on our homeland.
We had numorous attampts to assinate him. When they found his camp and knew by satallite which tent he sleeps in, when he sleeps there, when he leaves, and where he goes to take a ----... we had Afghanistan militants who were against him just waiting to get the signal to go in and kill him but apparently they saw a swing on the satallite and figured there were children there and backed out of the attack because they didn't want to kill "civilianz," yet a few years from now those kids will probobly be carrying guns not giving a damn about killing people.
Another chance they missed is when he was in the desert hunting falcons, at any time they could have shot him down with a missle but he was with prince from middle eastern country that was apparently on good terms with us... yet what is funny is they were in good terms with bin ladden too... lol well aftern clinton left office Bush came in and basically brushed off all the warnings of an imminent attack that were sent to him...
This is all true because I was watching a 2 or 3 hour special last night on "inside 9/11" you can find way more info (true info) at http://inside911.com
This is all true stuff. Mainly all info coming from the government, etc.

Also, off course it would have happened Bush was basically trying to clean up what his father started... that was it, he basically wanted to bring dignity back to his family name.

    Almost there...
yes i do live in the middle east, thats why i know what i talking about

as for another 9/11 you people seem to forget that the people who commited 9/11 lived and worked in the U.S., they attended flight school in the U.S. while they obviously had backing from an outside planner, most of the resources were made availale by the U.S. Saddam didnt have the ability to fund a terrorist attack, hell he wasnt even getting money for his oil (the oil to food program ring a bell)

and because you fund most of the U.N. it gives you the right to ignore it? then truly the U.N. has become a useless organisation, it may as well be an extension of U.S. politics......nobody put the U.S. as protectors of world order and freedom, thats what the U.N is for, thats what the U.N. is failing to do because of the U.S. ignoring it

when it comes down to it, saddam is pure evil, im not saying he'd be fair to his people, but i saying in the next decade or so he would've done less harm than the 2 years of U.S. invasion, while that might be speculation if you look at the number of civilian casualties and the state of iraqi economy it might not be far from the truth. Saddam like all dictators would have fallen eventually, however its the duty of the iraqis to see that happen, a revolution comes from within, an external force is just a conquering army, Iraq will now have an intense dpendence on U.S. might, U.S. troops will eventually get permanent bases in iraq just as in saudi arabia, japan, etc. not to mention the debt in money iraqis will owe the U.S. the means may be diffrent but a conquest is still a conquest saddam was merely an excuse.

im not saying bush is a heartless greedy bastard, but you have to admit that the U.S. gains a lot by forming a foothold in iraq (the U.S. not bush, so americans who think bush is a greedy bastard remember that your the ones benefiting in the long run at the expense of iraqis)

Note: Im sudanese and just until recently we had a civil war that lasted over 20 years, im proud of the soldiers who died, doesnt mean i think the cause is just. Soldiers are merely the tool of war when it comes down to it its the people on top that are held acountable

They don't have to worry about getting thrown out of bed because of that, but now they have to worry about their 7 year old child getting blown to pieces on their way to school. Or having 10 US Army personel ramming their way into their house because of a 'possible threat'.

Saying 2000 dead soldiers isn't bad is like saying 9/11 wasn't bad. Heck, they destroyed 2 of the largest buildings in the world, and only 2500 died! that could have whiped out 10000 or more! Dang we are lucky. See how stupid that sounds?

Sadly, its people like you who make America seem like an ignorant hellhole. They failed to act because they are smart. They know the value of a human life.

Lol we haven't even made progress in the war on terror. If anything we have taken steps back. We have only given reason to hate.

Atreyu, I want you to have my babies. Get in my bed, naked, now. Anyways - he's right.

If you want to fight a "war on terror", try not giving neutrals a reason to want to sign up and shoot at you.
