Bingo my man. That's exactly how I feel on the subject. It's a great debate topic to hear people's opinions on it. But i'm just like you, and don't fall for any of that. Not too flame anyone at all, but too me it seems like some guy could have just wrote in the bible that an.. hmm an octopus? created the earth. And people would believe it, cause it's man-made (Bible). And that's all they have to believe. I'm the kinda guy that needs too see it, too believe it. So until someone can proove to me with my own eyes on a religion, i'll stick to believing nothing. :)

Oh I expected that you would accept others views, and being in acceptance of the exception in accepting others' views, you have done something acceptingly exceptional!

Not really. It's just your honest opinion. I respect that. And you also have a point.

I really don't believe ALL the things that you stated a while ago. But I also have my opinion:

Religion is not important. I believe in God, but I do not believe in religion. Let's have the Catholic religion for example.

This religion is such a lie. Priests tell you that you should pray the rosary, and do all those other rituals. But what for? What's the use? Also, those other people praise the saints and mary. But who are they for our praise? Aren't they just normal people like us? Why should we pray for them?

This is why religion is not important. We can have no religion at all and still praise a God that we believe in.

We humans have a mind, which is why we can think, and do all other things. We can make our own choices and do all other stuff.

I guess my opinion was a bit open-ended and hard to understand.

    Just my 2 cents.

I understood your perception. It made perfect sense to me. I am kinda like that, where I believe in God and nothing else. This is what makes me Jewish. Because Judaism is the ONLY relilgion that has to do with believing in one god and nothing else. You don't really WORSHIP anyone else.

Well I have been in the situation where I was unsure about what would happen when I was going to die.And I had an experience that changed my views on religion completely.

My father passed a few years ago from cancer, none of my family was very religious ( at all ), but while I was with my father his last days, he would talk and chat with family as normal, then just before he left us, no one was in the room with him at the time (we had a baby monitor set up incase he needed something) he said out loud, OK I am ready to go, we went into the room and he took his last breathe.

Now I know he wasnt talking to us when he said it, and not sure if he had someone or something near him at the time he said it, but I know that he agreed to go and now he is in a better place and that I will see him later on.

I have since been to church more often, but still hold a little back because I am kind of the same as alot of people ( I belive what I can see ) but I have a more and deeper respect for religion, and most of the stuff they talk about in church ( at least the one I go to ) is common sense stuff. Treat each other with respect, dont cheat on your partner, be nice, common sense stuff, not Jesus, Jesus you sinner.

Just the old mans view on the subject.

things in life take a whole new perspective when things like that happen. My sister died after about 20 days of living, she had an undetectable heart condition. Although it would be comforting to know i could meet her again in heaven, my veiws dont change. What a naughty person i am :P

I have never had an experience like that, although I DID almost die once. I was on a ride at Magic Mountain called Spin Out. And to make a long story short, I was hit in the head with a metal poll 14 times, went to the ICU for 4 days, and had (this is what I was told after I told them about it) a near death experience.

That is a reason why I believe you have a soul. Because during this dream (near death experience), I SAW myself getting my head cracked open. Except I was in the Ride Operators deck, not where other people on the ride saw it.

I have nearly died too, when i was 4 i went under the water at a local pool for about 5 mins. before i lifeguard found me. i was flown by helicopter to the hospital where i stayed for over a week getting shots and such. I didnt have any cool experiences though. my only cool memory was getting to play the NES they had there.

So you got hit in the head by poles on the ride? or what? you dont have to do into detail if you wouldnt like.

    I'll go into detail.

Spin Out is a ride which is based on Sytrifical (sp?) Force holding you to the wall. Well, this was in a barrel shaped room with no lid (at the time). I was 10 years old and very light for my size. Although I don't know how it happened, I have been told from the people who saw it happen that the ride forced me up. My head went above the barrel and flew back and hit the metal poll which wires for the ride ran through it.

The ride didn't stop since the Ride Operator wasn't paying attention. So I hit my head 14 times or so in the exact same spot. I have a nice scar to prove it, which is currently covered up by a whole mess of hair ;) .

And we did Sue them incase you were going to ask. We didn't get much money, only enough to pay the medical bills and put me through college as long as I live at home and have a job XD. We didn't get much since I didn't have any long-term injuries.
