I want you to read this, and tell me what you think of me now. Im certainly not a bad person, as you all know, this thread is strictly "Religion" and i dont want you flaming me. Flame my beliefs all you want though.

I dont believe in God, or any spirit, or any religion. I dont believe in Heaven and Hell.

Instead, i believe in instincts, and right and wrong. I believe that after you die, you simple just arent. You don't think, you dont move, you dont anything. Your life and thoughts and feelings are gone. I dont believe in being re-born. Its not like you die and automatically are reborn because you couldnt feel the time after your death. You just ARENT.

it is really hard to try and comprehend not being able to think, or exist, or anything. But thats what i believe, and im sticking to it. I believe in right and wrong, but im not just a bad person because i dont believe in going anywhere or being punished after death. Im not bad because i dont want to waste my one and only life in prison, just to die and not exist anymore. For me, i just have to live my life to its fullest, because its all i get.

I dont understand how people follow religion, they believe that this "Spirit" made the universe, and the earth, and humans, so that we could go to earth and be tested, so that we could meet him again? why not just let us stay with him, whats the point of being tested? If having a body is only something you could do on earth, doesnt that mean when you get back there it will be nothing like having a body? you wont be able to move or think? you just dont have any options, how does that make sense? I think people only believe in religion because they want the satisfaction of thinking they can continue after death, and not wanting to accept that they will be nothing.

Comments and reactions to my post? does it stir you up inside that i dont believe in God? tell me.

For the most part I agree. About your part saying you just 'aren't', well yes, you are dead. You have ceased to function, just like every other (once) living organism in the universe.

I have come to conclusion that the ONLY reason for religion, is for life after death.

Every religion has life after death to do with it. It is a scary thought to comprehend that you just stop your existance when you die, but I see where you are coming from.

I believe in having a soul. Which means, that if I was cloned... I won't be able to control my clone, they would have their own mind and everything. They would have a seperate soul. So, I think that your soul can't cease to exist. Reincarnation does exist to a certain extent... in a way it does, because how else would you explain that there is a birth for nearly every death on Earth? If not faster... which means that there has to be a circulation going on. But you can't recall that you ever lived before, which is why I think that Reincarnation only exists to a certain extent. I do believe in an afterlife, but not one such as heaven or hell.

Wait, who says you can control your clone? Sorry im not flamming, its just your clone does not have the same personality, knowledge etc etc that you do. That is all shaped by the life you live. You clone is only a replica of your features...

so about the birth to death thing, are you talking about the souls that they come in? If so that makes sense.

But i just consider my soul to be a sort of personal tally of right and wrong.

so are you saying that a clone raised under a religion wouldnt be able to have life after death, because they have no soul? Or could a clone recieve a soul like anyone else when they are created / born? Why couldnt you clone just receive a soul in circulation?

im kinda getting off my own topic but i thought i would bring some things up.

    No problem lol.

ANd Dan, I believe that when a clone is created, they recieve a new soul entirely, just as you are when you are born. Unless they can remember themselves as a past being, they have a brand new soul.

When someone takes hold of their beliefs in religion, they can't bring a sense of being practical to the table. This is what I feel you have done to the theory of life after death. It's completley understandable, but I consider myself an open-minded person, so I have little difficulty accepting views other than my own.

In the scientific sense, when we die, all life function cease to exist, and this should include the consciousness. I'm not overtly religious, but I think that when I die, something will happen. I'm not sure what exactly, but I don't think I'll just blink out into nothing like a star in the sky.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, science explains what can't be explained, but religion gives it meaning. ^_^
