I just got my new PC, and downloaded MSn messenger v7.5... When i click sign in, it starts signing in, and it just sits there forever signing in, i have left it for up to 15 minutes, and still nothing. it did the same on my old PC... i have a firewall, but i have fowarded the ports already. i have 340+ contacts, may that be the problem? (it does it on my other account too though) please help me someone, it occassionally signs in fine, but most of the time it doesnt. 150 creds to who can fix my problem :D

PS. i click "Service Status" button on messenger, and it says all systems running fine. i dont want any alternatives, and i have tried re-installing it...

first thign first, try using another messenger to ensure that it isn't somethign on your end... try GAIM

    http://gaim.sourceforge.net/

second fo all, i may be wrong in saying this, but isn't there a 200 person limit on MSN?

well, i have tried GAIM before, and that works fine, i have tried others, and they get stuck on "loading contacts" part. i know there is a contact limit, but it sometimes signs in okay...

try getting rid of some old contacts... if that doesnt work... try making like 2 accounts and splitting the contacts into the 2 that way you can talk to all your contacts and all u gotta do is login with the other user... ^_^

Happened to my friend. Are you connected to your internet? Is your firewall blocking your access to MSN? Is Msn accepted?

yes, i am connected to the internet, otherwise i couldnt be posting here 0.o and also, i dont think my firewall is blocking MSN. i have forwarded the ports through my router, and i dont think McAfee or Windows firewall would be blocking it...

have you tried refreshing your connection to msn try the following steps

1.open up msn but dont sign in.
2.go to Tools>options then click the connection tab to the left
    3.click start under connection troubleshooting.
4.it will run a test once done click exit then come out and try signing in.
5.if that doesn't work check that your firewall is letting msn to go on the internet.

thats all i can think of atm but if i think of any other ways ill post back here :D

Try the following to help resolve the situation:

Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
Make sure you have installed the latest version of MSN Messenger.
Make sure you have installed the latest available updates for your operating system. For Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, go to the Microsoft® Windows® Update website.
If you are using a firewall, make sure that MSN Messenger is allowed full access through the firewall. For more information, see the firewall documentation.
Verify the Advanced Connection settings for MSN Messenger.

    - From Msn website
