It is funny how ignorant people have become.

For example, "America can't fall, it is the best!", or "I like America, it will never fall.." or something like that. Face the facts that yes, it is almost definite that the US will fall, it is just that you don't want to accept it. Like when most people go to different countries, most Americans think that everyone should speak English.. hah losers.

I am done with all these ignorant people except for people like A t r e y u.

Of course, America will fall. Who knows when, though. It could be 1000 years from now, or it could be 10 years from now. Regardless, it won't be something to necessarily destroy the nation as a whole, but we sure as hell won't be world leaders. Honestly, I see this as a bad, but inevitable thing. I feel incredibly safe knowing that I have the largest and most powerful military protecting me. Regardless, no matter how large the military is, the nation will fall due to internal affairs. To be honest, I think it could eventually be caused by the military itself. The military is sucking up a lot of money (money well spent, in my opinion), but who knows what the future holds? We could spend too much, make our military too powerful, and leave ourselves extremely vulnerable internally.

I don't think it'll be from greed. As I stated above, I think it'd be from internal weaknesses, which very well could be caused by mishandling of finances, but not necessarily from greed. Who knows, anything's possible.

I don't know where you want to take this, but obviously nothing can last forever. I doubt America will fall in the near future, but sooner or later America will have to fall. A bad decision, a war, etc. Things could change very quickly, it is too hard to say.

But I live in America and I believe it is the greatest superpower in the world right now, so I don't think I have to worry about this in my lifetime.

I wouldn't say that. Germany was by far the most powerful nation in the late 1930's, but two stupid moves on their part (declaring war on Russia and US while having a war with England and France already) destroyed them. Who knows, for some reason we may take up arms against all the middle eastern states besides Isreal, stretch our resources too wide, and let ourselves be taken over. It's not impossible.

Got to agree with j_ball430 on this one, even if everything is perfect it is not impossible that some bad decisions in the future or near future could really make things turn for the worst though.

Pointing this out now, yes it's most likely that America will fall one of these days. I mean the saying IS very true: "Everything that has a beginning, does have an end", there's no doubt about it.

I mean we could possibly prevent this if we make the right choices...but we probably won't make the right choices anyways...

I mean that day hasn't came yet, so why worry about it right now?

The problem with this whole line of thinking is that every other nation that has become a power and has fallen was taken into account during the founding of our government. The streamlined system of checks and balances prevents the corruption that topples dictators, monarchs and all other absolutes. That is the whole purpose of the three branches of government;to avoid such a collapse.
Secondly, as far as falling goes, economically we may be taken by China over the next few decades but that is in no way falling. Also, people seem to fail to realize that the Chinese economy is almost entirely based on exports and imports to the US. This is why the Chinese are so eager to lend us money; it is in their best interests for us to remain the superpower that we are.
In terms of military the United States possesses the most advanced highly trained military in the world; it takes more than economics to top that. To top that, the United States is allied with all the top nations militarily. Also, for a country to fall there needs to be an opposing nation which any sane state in the world would dare not due due to the nuclear power of the United States. We have approximately 2000 more nuclear weapons than any other country; enough to lay waste to any serious attacker (probably the rest of the world as well).
Furthermore, far too many nations wholly depend on the protection of the United States and would be lost without it. The sheer number of allies to our nation would also effectively stop any invader. The nation that tries to usurp the USA would, in turn, be fighting most of Europe as well. The number of allies of the United States is matched only by their level of sophistication in the military and their dependance on the United States. World economics, depends heavily on the United States not only as an information technology power but also for consumerism. It is for this reason that even if we are surpassed by China we will remain an essential part of world economics.
