Ok well theres been a lot of talk about how people want credits to cost more (the sellers), I have a suggestion that will do the trick. On GR V2 have licenses that people can purchase for a certain amount of credits so they can 'legaly' own a shop, and have the price be pretty high but still reasonable so people would have to work for the license. The people that want the licenses will need to have a certain amount of posts, +rep, and a 'minimum' -rep to purchase a license. This will illiminate noobs having shops and it will make the 'Shops and Services' forum more legit. ---- EDIT: I think there should be 2 choices, buy with USD or with creds, if you dont meet the requirements set then you should buy the license with USD. So if you guys set the requirements pretty high then you can make some money for the site. ---- There will be better sig shops and less 'amature' sig shops, there will be less 'Credits for USD' shops/sellers because not just anyone can sell creds, therefor raising the price of credits. ---- EDIT: This will also cause more work so I think some Marketplace moderators would need to be selected to watch over the place, just like Dan said. ---- I told this idea to BFTP but he said it will never happen, I dont know though this seems like a really good idea to me, and not just because I thought up of it.... Post what you think!
Whats wrong with "noobs" having shops? Just because they are new doesn't mean they don't have talent...
well, i like the idea in a whole, but i see some problems with it. I mean, you have to start off getting rep somwhere, and lots of people start it by starting good shops, but if they cant start one, then it will be ALOT harder for some to ever get one. And some "noobs" may have really good products for sell, even if they dont allready have enough rep. I think that we should get some mods exclusive to the marketplace, kinda like im exclusive to renders. Then have them go through and close, edit, or delete any stupid shops, offers, requests, and auctions. and even if this happened people would try to pass off shops as "services" which you couldnt put a licenses on. anyway, think about this, i have to go for now.
Straque - noobs and newbie is a different thing. Dan - the required rep amount doesnt have to be outrageous, it can be like +5 rep and no -reps or something....and about the services thing, there will have to be some rules and they have to be thought thru so there are no loop holes and that will solve most of the problem that you are saying might happen.
GREAT IDEA. It would make the shop section much better. My thoughts are to have an official shop, with high quality products from pro sellers, and a sub-forum (whatever it's called) with an amatuer shop, or something to that extent. I hope it goes through.
Really Nice Idea Mate I love it Like Whits said, it will make shop section much better, but for the -rep I think we should accept like less than -5 rep and have higher than +5 rep Well, Nice Idea I hope it'll happen
If they cant find a special code or whatnot they can just put the licenses in the shop in a new category called "Licenses"..... If mods are alowed to see what members have what items they would have to go to each shop and check if its licensed or not. Olympe - yeh the +5 rep and -5 rep thing is what i was thinking also.
It would reward spamming, reputation abuse - and is unfair to newer people who generally have something to offer. The thing i like about the GR economy is - its not exclusive. Anyone can come in and make a fortunate, don't even have to post. I had 5,000 credits by my 150th post off IPB work, because of my shop.
sounds like a great idea also in V2 will all the members get deleted and will we start over? that would be cool
I see where your coming from BFTP, but the main idea of this suggestion is the license part, not the requirements, so the rep thing and post thing can be ignored. I think there should be 2 choices, buy with USD or with creds, if you dont meet the requirements set then you should buy the license with USD. So if you guys set the requirements pretty high then you can make some money for the site. Sean - V2 will be the same site, theyre not going anywhere, but they are going to give it a makeover and add a bunch of things.
nice man and to get funding i say gamerenders has an official buy credits again buy big dave it will help gamerenders funding, and i say they have an official rate of 1cent per credit
