I just got a new PC of my own, and its up in my room. i have a USB internet adapter so i can surf the net from the downstairs PC in my room. ths thing is it goes slow and stuff, so i was wondering (i have a spare broadband modem) is there any way that i can connect my modem upstairs to the ports deownstairs without reallly long wires and that? it get annoying because downloads through IE are really slow, and the downstairs PC has to be turnd on for me to use the net in my room :(

If you have a wireless router downstairs then I don't understand your problem. Just buy a USB or PCI network adapter and connect to the network.

you net is slow because those usb adaptors are slow. I would suggest getting a wireless pci card for your pc upstairs and to get a better signal for upstairs have your antenna horizontal rather than vertical.

i would also try to get your wireless router as close to your pc as possible. If you can try and get it in the middle of your house.
