Depending on what "hardcore" gaming is in your eyes..

Hardcore could mean playing BF2 on max'd out settings. Or just playing a lot of games :)

Anywho, the cpu is fine.. but I would definitely upgrade the video card and up the ram. Now, you don't need to run a 7800GTX 512mb but I think you get the point. Nvidia is releasing the 6800GS for PCIX and I beleive AGP. It benches a bit less then a GT but will cost you less then any other 6800. For decent gameplay I would suggest a 6800GT then OC'ing it a tiny bit to over a 6800Ultra. Saves you so much money.

(Be sure to get the same speeds and type of ram as the stuff you have right now. If you go and buy a 512mb stick of faster ram, your old stuff is just going to slow it down to match it.)

    B) Rock on

No IT DOES. I dont know why but in all other cards on the market it makes no difference but on the 7800GTX 512MB it increases 3dmark scores from 7500 to 10500. Good increase in performance eh?

All your specs are pretty good except you are going to need a better graphics card. A 6200 can only last you for some time before games come out that are better than F.E.A.R.'s graphics. If you have money I would suggest a 7800. I have one and in my opinion it is a very good graphics card.

Jedi, if you talking bout the 7800 gtx you are correct, but it is out of his price range, they range from 600 - 700 dollars. A 6800GS and 6600GT cannot handle full graphics on F.E.A.R though, I tried it on my card and it lagged the hell out, but it works fine with cod2, bf2 and stuff like that.

Well lets see, if im SUCH an idiot, why do i sell computers???

and for your little child questions agp is accelerated graphics port, which is used to enable 3d graphics to display properly and funtionally on your computer.

and for the other one about PCI express is used to connect a graphics/video card to your system.

    Ya dumb ----.
