Open up your command console (in windows xp go to "run" then type in "cmd") and type in format c: (or whatever your main hard drive is). It will come up with a pop up saying are you sure you want to delete all the files on your hard drive, confirm of course. Then when it's done, put in your windows xp cd, then load the computer on the cd and it should come up to a set up screen.

Np bro, and dude, make sure you absolutely know what your doing (research a little bit off of google maybe, or from your computer manufactuar if you don't have a custom built pc). Once you confirm the reformat process, everything on your hard drive is long gone, so there is no turning back.

backup the junk you want and reformat its the easiest thing to do its not hard i have done it like 5+times lol its getting to be normal. of course my PC is 3 years old to... anyways im telling yea backupa nd reformat, than before you get on windows UNPLUG you intenet cable, install Zonealarm and virus protector and you will be fine. than windows upaates, other wise you will get a virus right away it has hapened to me once cause a fresh copy of windowsint protected wiht out updates and a firewall. i have fu***** up my PC so many times lol. i learned what NOT to do now. and it runs smooth now finally :)

Get ZoneAlarm, Ad-aware 6, and AVG Free Edition, and your set to go. Don't forget Firefox. =D.

I would suggest, getting a pack of CDs to burn your stuff on before you reformate the drive, when they say it is gone forever it is. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE DISC THAT CAME WITH THE COMPUTER BEFORE HAND.

my old computer was in similar condition, except I had lost the disc and since it was 6 years old, I just got another new computer, this one is much better. remember, windows bad, linux/unix/macOS good, damn wish I had them...
