does a computer montitor lead you to blindness after years? My parents told me my eye sight is getting worse because of my gfx addiction.

 

Depends what kind of monitor you have and how close you sit.

 

when I was a kid my mom would say "Dont sit that close to the TV it will hurt your eyes." TV, computer monitor same thing. I dont think it would, you should google some info about it

 

I think you are ok as long as your eyelashes dont touch screen or your screen is uber brighht

 

I hope not because I will be blind in a few years

 

You can't actually go blind. Your eyesight just gets a little worse.

 

With those goddamn bananas in Apoc's sig, it's a wonder everyone on this site doesn't go blind.

 

if your in a dark room and focus on the pc it strains your eyes so i always keep a dim light on and take breaks every 15mins or so

 

Yea, as somebody said, you can't go blind. Blindness is a disease. Your eyesight will just get really bad and you'll need powerful glasses/contact lenses.

 

Your contacts will be an inch thick eventually, but you won't go blind

 

If this was true; then I would be blind right now. Perfect vision.

 

I'd like to say the same, but i have contacts. I can however say that i had them before i really started being online and it hasn't really gotten worse since

 

Yea it does bcuz im pratcily blind and the eye docter said it was because of the computer. I have 20/20 vision with my contacts but when im on the cpu i take them out.
