I'm pretty sure it is coming out Q2 2006. Nintendo has a way a of surprising the hell outta everyone, so I think it will be awsome.

What is known or speculated so far.

I think the controller will work very will with first party games. As for 3rd party, we'll have to wait and see. It will also work well for the NES and SNES games that you will be able to play one the system (via downloading them for a small fee) by turning the controller sideways. You will also be able to plug in your Gamecube controllers for those games that don't work well with the one-handed controller. Also has been rumored that there will be a removable DVD drive you can purchase as it is said that the discs will be around the same size as the Gamecube discs.

That's all I know or have heard really. Tha and the system will come in pretty colors :) The official unveiling of the system will happen at E3 in 2006 as announced by Nintendo this morning.

You're correct in those stuff, execpt for the GC plug. There is the shell that can be connected to the controller. The GC controller is used for backwards capability of GC. I wonder why'd the reason they call the Revo the double console. Overall, the possibilities are almost endless with the controller! Developers are impressed.

Nintendo loves inventing whacky controllers, just hope that their controller would be good, the touch screen on the DS was weird enough.

The controller will give Nintendo the innovative edge in the next gen of systems, but from a hardware strength standpoint, it may not be as "good" as the other systems... But PS3 and Revolution aren't out yet, so there's really no way to really tell how the system will do yet

I'll likely be getting it no matter what, I love the new controller they made and I always end up getting the new nintendo system for the games that only come out for them. Some people don't buy them because to them it's a "kiddy" system.Although I don't see any of my nintendo consoles as a main console.

But the Revolution is also supposed to be cheaper than both the 360 and the Ps3. I've heard that Sony will be losing money for each Ps3 sold, and still the Revolution will be cheaper.

Anyways, the deal with the controller is that Nintendo thinks we shouldn't be limited to the standard gaming experience. Innovative games are for third parties, but an innovative system is their responsibility. I'm just glad it's backwards compatible.

Every company loses money when they sell a console. They make up for it with the games.
