Uh, this was directed at the topic creator. Well, still referring to science further back, you're right to a point. The reason why anything exists today is because at some point in time, the amount of matter in the universe overcame the amount of anti-matter, which would normally destroy each other. So, for some unknown reason, the universe possesses more matter than it does anti-matter. If you wanna say that god created an imbalance between matter and anti-matter, I guess that's your prerogative.
And to those who don't believe in the big bang or what not simply because the chances of it occurring were extremely minimal (as in 1 in 1x10^64 or even smaller), think of it this way: Time is eternal. If anything has a chance of ever happening, it probably will, regardless of how little chances it has of occuring. Why? Because it has all the time it needs for it to occur...
Uh, for the most part, yeah, they're right. Perhaps not about an explosion, per se (even though there's extensive documentation of other stars exploding and then imploding upon themselves), but unless humans manage to disprove that energy can't be created nor destroyed, the universe WILL eventually come to an end. It's called entropy... Energy always goes from highly organized but very unstable forms (nuclear energy, kinetic energy, etc. etc.) into very disorganized but stable forms (i.e. heat). Therefore, unless we can create more energy somewhere, the universe is bound to eventually become nothing but heat energy. Scientists refer to this phenomenon as the entropy end of the world.
Psh tsh... There was a creator of this universe... Nothing came from nowhere... It defies logic... Thus resulting in religion of God creating the universe is true...
Sorry...I'm answering to these as I read 'em, hence why the consecutive string of posts. <_< Well, absence of proof is not proof of absence. The fact that they haven't discovered what happened yet doesn't mean that they never will. Even IF they somehow prove the big bang, it still wouldn't necessary disprove the existence of god, though. So, if the big bang is true, it doesn't mean that god isn't, but at the same time, if god is true, it doesn't mean that the big bang isn't. It's perfectly possible to argue that all of that occured due to evolution. All beings adapt to changing environments, so what we see now as a "perfect" process might have been the result of millions of years of evolution. Even now we're still evolving. To this day scientists aren't sure of what the purpose of the appendix is, for example, thus making it plausible that it's a vestigial organ that USED to serve some function, but no longer does. The same could be argued for our toes...our toes serve no practical purpose aside from perhaps helping us keep balance. Lastly, the same could even be argued for the coccyx/sacrum, which are likely remnants of a tail. In other words, this "perfect" system you describe could still be very well a mere result of the evolutionary process, though if it were it wouldn't prove or disprove the existance of "god."
Some of the questions to the meaning or the origins of existence are best left where it is, cause its only a matter of beliefs that give each of us our answers. Nothing provable as there will always be science and religion to stir things around.
yah i believe in god.. but if everything comes from something who created god? It's like chicken and the egg
right. but nothing created God. The human mind cannot comprehend how something can exist but not be created.
Ya know, being in the army taught me something....honestly, and i don't aim to offend, but when you are on the field, you have your brothers, and you have your weopon. Thats it. God doesn't come and kill the enemy, we pull the trigger. I believe that there is an overwhelming power the leads us through life, but im not going to say ya or nah to anyone that believes in evo or biblical beliefs. Somebody up there is watchin out for me, i know that, and im sure ill meet up with that person when the time is right. I was put here for a reason, and however we got here, i intend to find out what that reason is....
Can i put something to the believers of god creating the universe? I am in no way trying to disprove the idea, or to prove another, it is simply a question, because im not the most knowledgeable person about religion. People say god must have created things, because where else did the two particles come from? But where did god come from, to create those particles? Is there something about this in the bible? This is the most important question i think, because i fully believe in evolution, because it shows its presence in the world. Im kinda stuck when it comes to what came from where, because we will probably never know.
