Been in so many debates when I hate debating unless I'm face to face with the person and we're actually interested in what the other says (and I'm always interested in what the other person says as long as they listen to my part too, otherwise it's just them trying to change me).

I'll just say what the Bible says the clear things up, I don't really feel like getting all scientific right now

Ok, evolution: macro evolution, yes, that's real (same species but it evolves, like dog breeds). micro evolution, no, that's unbiblical.

Earth won't be destroyed a second time, it will be restored. It's the New Earth that revelation speaks about. There will be a new jeruselem (so many cubits or whatever high, yay wide, and so forth, and yes, it gives the dimensions). The New Jeruselem will be even better than Heaven and will be our true home. That's what the Bible says.

Why bad stuff happens on earth? Our sin, as stated earlier. A good father punishes his child, and God punishes us.

That's the part about God restoring everything, healing the land and all that good stuff. The Earth won't be destroyed, just wiped clean and started anew. Now, I'll admit, revelation isn't exactly the easiest book to understand (and I have little understanding of it myself) so I'm probably not the best person to talk about all this, but there are several things that I remember for certain, which is what I stated. I can also tell you that when the plagues hit things will really suck, lol, that's profound, huh?

Anyway, there you go. Now you know some of the Christian stuff on this, although by the time I hit the post button this will probably be behind the times, lol

oh yeah, and when God restores everything to what it was meant to be, only cooler, there won't be any death either, and we won't need to star to keep us warm either. I'll bet that God's glory is enough to light the entire universe ^_^ [/b][/quote]
    ... That's what I said. <.<

Another thing, the Earth will be destroyed by the sun. The sun "burns" hydrogen as a fuel, when all the hydrogen is used up the sun will begin to burn Helium and when this happens the sun will expand beyond the distance of the Earth, consuming it in its path. This is a fact.

I love that explanation, its logically flawless, and is not in direct opposition to either the bible or modern science. Wonderfully done mate. But still that poses the question where did the plasma arise from? its clear that something cannot begin from nothing as said by the law of conservation of matter : "matter cannot be created or destroyed" so that brings us all the way back to my idea of a supernatural force making the substances from which everything was made

Never said it wasn't, but I believe that God will do his stuff (which happens to have no limits) and won't let Earth be blown to smitherines or melted to tiny molecules or whatever, lol.

    Hehe, I know. You say restoration, I say extermination/judgement. You say tom-EH-to, I say to-MAH-to. ^.^

Oh, and about the earth being destroyed... I think that will happen as a punishment to sinners, since the judgement thing will happen before then (IMO). The whole white throne thing (I forgot the exact wording >.<), and the rest of what is recorded in Revelations, should happen before the earth is engulfed by the sun. The remaining sinners will perish with the Earth.

Yea but didn't your god come back to life?
I forgot how I don't read the bible to much.

Also wasn't that book banned from the bible because it was so radical?
So couldn't he just bring back every one if he wanted to. If he had this extreme power to create the big bang thus creating matter. He should surely have the power to make no one die.

And also and I know its sort of off topic, but wasn't sinstarted by a woman. It was only started by this because back then when the bible was made woman were looked down upon. Eventually we learned that woman can be smart and eqaul etc... But still some of it was written by a compelety different socity. How can we live by the morals of an old book? I do understand some more morals will always stand true as. Turn your other cheeck etc..

Sorry I got really offtopic i just really wanted to write about that.

this has been incredibly stimulating, and I will definatly do this again, thank you all for voicing your opinions here :D

@flop: personally I think all monotheistic visions of god are of the same being, so my god is your god. And no I dont think our god was ever in physical existance to die, my personal religion believes the masiah hasnt come yet, and so really its impossible for me to assess the possibility of anyone having the ability to prevent death

Umm, I think so. Eve bit the little forbidden apple before Adam, thus creating sin. And I don't think God would've wanted to not let anything die. Sin is impure, and God does not accept it, so people die because of their sins. Without sin, the world would still be like the Garden of Eden.

Yup, that's right. And the reason people who aren't Christian DON'T get into Heaven is because God CANNOT have sin in his presence. Christian's are sinners too, why I can tell you that today I've been procrastinating my reading assignment (nothing has happened in the book except a broken nose and Gatsby disappearing, grr!). There, I sin just like you. The only difference is I admit this and ask forgiveness, so God doesn't see my sin, and when he doesn't see it than that means it's gone :). The reason Jesus had to die was because the price had to be paid, that's always been the way, since God is just (read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, it explains it). Jesus WAS brought back since he is, after all, God in the flesh :).

The reason that there is death in the world, as stated, is because of sin. Sin = death. It's a seperation of God himself, and God is life. If life is gone, well, all that's left is death, right? But also, if we never died and had no reason to really obey God, than wouldn't that mean we wouldn't obey God? I mean, seriously. And you can't have life without death if you're a human being. Jesus had to die to give us life. We have to die to reach Heaven. Things like that. The second death is when people go to Hell, and the Bible says that God's people are safe from that.

^^ That's a biblical explanation there, so now you know

AHH!! I didn't mean to write a whole sermon, yikes! I got way off topic!

Well if you had 3 big blocks and threw at each other and it made 600 blocks its still the same matter its just in a different form. Matter can't just be created. Expect for that big bang.

"The Big Bang actually consisted of an explosion of space within itself unlike an explosion of a bomb were fragments are thrown outward. The galaxies were not all clumped together, but rather the Big Bang lay the foundations for the universe."
