Alright after reading some of these discussion threads I feel like I can express this idea for a little critique. Personally I am a man of science, but I also appreciate religion for what it is. Here is what I believe, and why I think god exists. I strongly believe in the big bang theory, which said that two particles in deep space collided and caused an explosion which rearranged some molecules and created matter. A little farfetched but hey. So here it is, if this was to happen, then where did those two colliding molecules come from? the entire idea of the theory is that matter cannot have appeared from nothing, so how could these first atoms exist? It all leads to the fact that somehow something must have created those first 2 atoms, and this is where I believe god comes into play, I believe some sort of higher power must have created these first molecules to begin the chain reaction leading to our existance and thus the beginning of science. With this theory, science and religion arent in conflict like most people believe them to be, and I think this is a pretty good way in order to connect the two. Like I said, its just and idea, so please respond to it, but be sensible, dont flame me or anything, Im not intending to insult anyone's ideas or beliefs, this is just mine and I wanted to know if anyone else had considered something like this before.
i agree with this pretty much, i believe in heven and hell, but i DO NOT BELEIVE that life comes from no where. where would it come from rocks? anyways i do beleive in god and that he did create the universe and live but i do beleive in apes evolving into humans
i believe those atoms were formed when energy in space compacted and formed them. Who knows where the energy came from but there is always gonna be a bigger picture that we will never be sure of
I think it makes more sense for humans to come from rocks, than for an explosion made of fire to suddenly "happen" in space (if there even was space) where there's no oxygen. Not to mention, this planet is the perfect distance from the sun, complete with water, plants, and oxygen. don't take the 'I think it makes more sense for humans to come from rocks" part seriously, I'm just making a point.
@apoc: well put man, I like that idea. Any more ideas? @wolffram: well the idea is that there were no particles, ie no oxygen or anything until something was put there, perhaps it was oxygen molecules themselves that caused the bang, who knows... thanks for the input @flop: I doubt it being that Ive never read it or anything else by him
there's definetely a God. Our planet is the perfect distance from the sun. The contents of our atmosphere are suitable for us to breathe. The human body is all the proof you need for evidence of an intelligent creator. The human body is perfect. If one thing was out of place it wouldn't work. Take out your helper T cells. Just some cells. Take those out, you're dead. The organs are all positioned behind your ribs as a wall of protection. Your kidneys are protected by muscles in your back. Take one letter, just one letter out of the DNA chain, we're all dead. Look at trees, at photosynthesis. How about cellular respiration. And all this just happened to come together by chance, and work perfectly? The chances of that are 1 in a number so high, only God could count up to it.
there are thousands of stars in the sky, there is a a very big chance that a planet formed a perfect distance from its star in at least one of those stars and that is why we became to live here because it was perfect distance and habitat, If it wasnt we might have evolved in another of the thousands of solor systems
He always was. Yeah, sounds crazy but so does the earth all the sudden forming from an explosion complete with everything in working order.
