There are pros and cons, but if you join the marine, people would give you the "I sure as hell admire and salute you" response, but of course in any war you are the first to be deployed and training would probably make you think twice of joining the marine corp. Its really up to you and how much you can handle it anyways. Most of all, best of luck to you in every decision you make, as long as you're happy with it.

Sometimes i don't trust the military. Good luck to all those who are in the military right now, anyways.

That's definetely not a bad idea. If I wasn't concentrating on my education, I would probably enlist. I have this great respect for each and every person who serves in the military. They are what's keeping the nation free, not all the dissent from all these anti-war and military lunatics.

Also, nobody needs to bring Bush into the discussion. This isn't about him or the war.

The odds are slim that you'll get in with your previous injury.. And if you do you will still have to do everything everyone else does.

I'm interested in joining the Navy SEALs when I'm older and I'm done with college. Living on a military base in Singapore right now and learning the ropes with my uncle who's in the Navy. I'll be moving back to the states when I'm 18, so by the time I'll probably sign up then.
