ok, whenever i use IE (i have to a lot of times since i can't download firefox onto my laptop), i only see images with a white background. when i check the properties, its a .png, and when i try to save it, it only lets me save it as a .bmp...i don't have any of these problems when using firefox on my PC, btw...i'd download it to my laptop if i could, believe me. thnx to anyone who helps me....
Yes, that is true. But in the next version of IE, it's supposed to support .png's. Can you download any other browser?
it does support transparent backrounds, just not .pngs. it supports .gifs with transparent backrounds, and thats what most sites use by default to support this problem. there isnt much you can do about this if your just looking at other peoples stuff.
No, it's not the transparency issue I'm talking about. I had the same problem way back when I used to use IE. There came a time when every file on the net I saved only saved as BMP. But before that I could save everythig normally. gif, jpg, png etc. Try to clear out your temp/cache files. That might help. Or is that the remedy for making Image Ready save optimized files as gif if they only register as bmp? hmmm. Well anyways..
try avant if you want to use IE and have transparent BGs. And FYI the next version of IE supports it all fine... I have it, well beta atleast. as for not being able to save, try emptying temporary files.
awww...im sad to know that. i can't download any other browser to my laptop because my school owns it....i guess i'll have to use firefox and a usb drive to get pngs on my laptop.
The real question is, why does it bother you? If you know it's transparent, just ignore it Why go through the trouble of putting FF on a USB drive just to see images?
