Template Codeing?/ Getting It On The Site

    what is it exactly like if i get a template or make on in photoshop with all the layers and everything how i get it on the site and in html and everything. Like getting all the buttons to work if there a tut for this or a simple explination?

    once you make the template you have to slice it, its a tool in photoshop. After slicing it you have to go in and code it and add your context and what not

    is there a fast way to code it? i heard there was a tool that like when ur editing the template it generates the html. is there a basic way of doing this? or a tut i can follow i'm new to the template things

    when you're done slicing the image you have to go to file > save for web > and then selct .jpg and then hit save and make sure you save the html and images. You can open the .html file that it makes and edit the code there, with notepad, dreamweaver or whatever you prefer

    Yes, that is the easiest way, but not the best looking. For a lot of templates you have to slice is speacially for it to expand properly, unless you're using frames then you can forget this whole thing :). It's fun to learn yourself, but if you can't usually someone will do a simple one for free.

    I recommend searching Pixel2Life for "Slicing Coding" and the third tut down or so is a 14 page amazing tutorial on it.

    What he means is what codes he has to put where I think...

    if you go save for web, then double click each slice you can make them links and stuff and it does the codes automatically, mostly useful for button links

    I think he's talking about content boxes...

    those are harder, you normally have to go into an html editor, and make the content boxes the background image for the cell, then you can type right over it.
