nevermind L) did it going to set it up now! i still dont know how to do the following... find out my nameservers... (for domain) and cpanel etc.
huh........ [/b][/quote] well he probally said that it was in the wrong section.. what do you want to use a server for? Irc? chats? something like that?
looks at how you don't help... anyway, I know you have to pay ~$45 a year to have your server up on the net, then you get your information you need, your nameserver and such. cpanel is a program that you run on a server, same as PHP, and Apache. Cpanel costs money to run though, not sure how much.. If you want it to be on the net, you are better off with having a Linux/Unix Operating System on it than Windows, it runs alot smoother.
You need to pay to get nameservers setup and cPanel I have seen for 49 dollars a year or a month not sure which, Apache and mySQL are free but cPanel is either a monthly or yearly fee and nameserves shouldn't be that much.
I just got this off their site. --------------------------- One Time License One time licenses are currently priced at USD $1250.00 This includes one year of basic support, as well as free upgrades for two years, or to any newer version of cPanel (whichever is longer). I don't think there is but I have seen sites selling licenses for like 45 dollars a month if that helps.
You also wanna be careful with hosting sites on your computer. Some ISPs dont allow you to use your internet connection to connect to a server, and could cancel your service if they find you are doing so. As for hosting nameservers, well, if you ran linux I beleive you can host your own nameserver. http://fedora.redhat.com/
