Lately ive been downloading some with Azureus, but it allways goes slow, even when there are like 2500 seeds and only 500 leechers, i still usually download with a speed of 1 kb/s.

Someone told me that it could be because some ports (not sure if thats the real english name for it) arent open. Azureus needs port 6881, but when i do a little test with azureus it says: Testing port 6881.... NAT-Error

Someone knows how i could fix that? I allready tried adding 6881 to windows firewall, but it didnt help =/

    Thanks in advance =)

(Sorry for my english btw =P )

hmm i think this is considered as potential warez but..

I kno azureus requires port 6881 but it just depends on how much the seeders are allowing you to download at : if the seeder lets u download things at a speed of 1KB then u will DL @ 1KB

In my case the ISP at my flats dont work properly coz they got different IPs so cant connect properly

You can search in google for ports for azuerus or something and it will bring up links

you probs need to find out your router name and model and then go to this website and look at it your router and it should tell you how to forward ports :D

It doesn't have to be warez, maybe i only download legal stuff with azureus =)

But thanks for the reply, but isnt it strange that when there are alot of Seeds and only a few leechers i still download at 1kb/s? I allready tried google btw, but i didnt find anything usefull there yet, so i thought, lets try it here =D

@Mezoni: thanks gonna try that now =)

yes they are meant to be green but when they are yellow it means either you have to forward your ports through your router or you are firewalled but as u said about the NAT error i presume that its to do with your router i'll try look later for you if i have time :D.

yeah, i opened ports 6881-6889 and i am still yellow, yet i get speeds around 30kb/s on good seeded ones.

also, Azuerus pops up saying I do not have UPTD (that right?) open, and i read somewhere earlier that BT doesnt use that anymore..

portforward.com may not have your exact model, but it may have the same or similar firmware. just look through it on how to open ports on a E-tech router.

please, change the ports used for azaureus, it should be in the options, not only is port 6881 blacklisted on most isp's but its used by a lot of other things as well, change the ports to something along the lines of 6900-7000 and check the select random port box.

Then set up your router to open the ports selected by azareus and to designate them solely to the program. Thats what i did and i have no trouble whatsoever maxing my connection out both ways.

@XMasterX: I looked at some other models from E-Tech, but their lay-out is way different from mine, so I still have no clue what to do =/

@II Phix II: I've allready tried using other ports, but every port gives a stupid NAT-Error... And I also dont really know how to forward ports in my router, I guess I have to start with that first =/

if u get the nat error with azareus at the biginning when u start it up, ignore it, i do, and eventually everything goes green and it works fine

not so, if you get a NAT error, it means it is running into a wall.
