Wow. That kid is incredibly smart. However Asia has a population that is several times bigger then north america so their chance of discovering a prodigy or genius of this caliber was quite high compared to our chance. On top of that they appear to be more education oriented in Korea then we are here.

Korean kids are quite intelligent from what I understand.

I have about 10 of them in my class (sophmore) and they are all in either advanced math (senior math) or Calculus.

I believe the hype over child prodigies is nonsense. Until the kid does something good for society, he's just another kid. He's a genius, so what? If he happens to find a strand of DNA that can be mutated to give a person better resistance to disease, or if he creates a flying car, then we can all jump for joy and praise his intellect, but until that moment in time, he is just another kid with a high IQ. An extremely high IQ, but still just another kid in the world.

    sho yano is smarter.

i hate how they dumb down articles.

they give pretty much no scientific explanation to his take on string theory other than a weak reference to all forces balancing out equals an fnet of zero.

Maybe they refrain from the stronger references so that we too do not become child prodigies... <.< >.>
