There are a lot of viruses floating around, aswell as spyware trojans and malware.

These files should be backed up in case of an emergancy

    IEXPLORE.EXE : C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

    REGEDIT.EXE : C:\Windows\system32\regedit.exe

    MSHTA.EXE : C:\Windows\system32\mshta.exe

    RUNDLL32.EXE : C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe

    SHIMGVW.DLL : C:\Windows\system32\shimgvw.dll

    SHELL32.DLL : C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll

    KERNEL32.DLL : C:\Windows\system32\kernel32.dll

    WSOCK32.DLL : C:\Windows\system32\wsock32.dll

    USER32.DLL : C:\Windows\system32\user32.dll

    NTOSKRNL.EXE : C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Hope this stop you from re-formatting in future

How does that reduce the need for reformatting?

I'm sure most people have XP Service Pack 2 so just upload the most recent ones and warn people to make sure they have the latest updates... or else...

These files will vary with each version of your operating system and your specific hardware configuration. The safest bet is just to do full system backups on a seperate hard drive, using a RAID setup if at all possible.

When u mean backing up. Do you mean just saving them on a disk or what?

Yeah, save them someplace that they won't be affected by outside sources.
