I know this stuff is probably easy to you guys, but i need help with it. please dont flame or cuss or anything, im just asking. i am looking for dividing, subtracting and adding fractions if anyone can help. and also i am looking for how to factorize equations. if anyone can help i will givr you a lil something you might like xD. --Gangstarrr
ROFL! People are always asking questions about math and all i say is "The textbook that you have you know, has all the answers!" Look at the chapter preview section, read up on it!
i dont have my books with me, i left them at school because i had to fit my jacket in my bag. but anyway, i want to know how to add, subtract and divide fractions. and how to factorize equations. i have me GCSE exam tomorrow
You in trouble man. Google it or something or ask a mate, if the exams tomorrow i suggest you do something
theres is no clearcut explanation on fractions. it's basically mental math, common sense sort of. 75% = 3/4. think about proprtions. 4 quarters in a dollar (100 cents = 100 percent) find ways to relate certain numbers to everyday things.
i have tried asking google, but it comes up with all this stuff i dont even know about, quadratics or something like that. i want to be able to factorise something like 2x(3-4) or somethignlike that. and how to do the fractions.
hey dude, i cant get on MSN right now. but what about IRC? if you click IRC at the top of GR, next to shop i can go there if you want. i would really like if someone would post here or post a link though.
When you add or subtract fractions they must have the same denominator. For Example 1/2 + 1/4 1. make the denominators the same through multiplication a. since we want the denominator to be 4 we will multiply numerator and denominator of 1/2 by two - remeber since you have to do top as you do the bottom so now it is 2/4 + 1/4 2. add the top but keep the denominator the same 2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4 3. simplify a. since 3/4 is in simplest form you are done. Multiplying fractions is easy 2/4 x 2/4 = ? 1. multiply straight across 2 x 2 is 4 4 x 4 is 16 so the answer is 4/16 2. simplify a. what factor will go into both 4 and 16 4 is a factor of both so the simplified answer is 1/4 because 4/4 =1 and 16/4 = 4 Division isn't much harder 2/4 divided by 2/4 all you do is take the recipiracol of one fraction and multipy the reciporacol of 2/4 is 4/2 so 2/4 x 4/2 = 8/8 = 1 I'll be on IRC later if you want more help Factoring is a little more complicated. It probobly won't be difficult level of factoring since you are still learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.
