OMG, debate team is awful. You don't actually debate. You basically make a few short crappy speeches. Plus you have to take both sides, you basically can't use any of your own opinions. It took all the fun out of debating.
Iagree with the post above me plus, argueing over the internet is dumb, as stated in the second post it'll just turn into a flame war. In the end it won't be much debating.
If you let the thread die, yes, there will be little to no debating. But debating over the Internet is far from "dumb." If you can prove your point in the first few posts, it is not a good topic to debate. But, if you have a few intellectuals that know what they're talking about and analyze everything, the debates can last for a good 5 or 6 pages. I'm all for a debate forum. That was the first thing I looked for when I got to this forum.
I just wanna let everyone know a Debate Forum has been made link It is gamerenders delivery sub forum, but BFTP has allowed debates to be held there.
I would love to have a debate section here. I think i could pwn at it and it would be alot of fun. It needs to be well moderated though cause otherwise its gonna resort to flaming, spamming, and other forms of nonsense IE: "MAN THOSE FSCKING LIBERALS CAN GO FSCK DONKEYS!" or "BUSH IS A COKEHEAD WHO COULDNT RUN HIS BATHWATER MUCH LESS A COUNTRY"
I think we shall keep it to the topics that we have goin here and there. People are too immature for an entire forum IMO. Too many people with different views on things. Plus, this has been brought up before.
If you look at the debate that me and ata are in with jew. Theres no flames just debating. Debates should be allowed but if some one goes and starts flamming just ban them from that forum. Thats why there is mods.
Well thats just one topic...with an entire forum it would go into various topics like music, government, different religious activities, etc and I just think it would escalate to a new level. This is jsut my opinion though.
Yea a debate forum would be cool to release some anger and try to convince people of other things against there will.
