You must have deleted 1 of the firewall files and Privacy settings file or files :D

I use McAfee and the best bet is to reinstall it

its not my PC, its my dads and i shouldn't even be using it. i dont want him to know i messed it up. i dont want to reinstall it because i will have to do all the updates and that again, and i dont really have time. i cant do system restore either because theres no restore point.

it takes more than 5 minutes to update mcafee anti-virus. and add the 4 users back onto privacy service. it took ages the first time, and it will take ages the next time if i ever uninstalled it.

Heres my solution, although I don't know if it will work.

You should have a McAfee icon in the taskbar at the bottom (You know at the end of your startbar?) Anyway, double click that and it brings up the main McAfee screen. "McAfee Security Center".

Click on Personal Firewall Plus or Virus Scan or whatever you're having problems with, then up at the top it should have "Enable" or "Disable" this feature and whatnot. Click on the link to make it a green light. Or, if you're missing the file, I suggest disabling all of that stuff, exiting McAfee, and then starting McAfee again and trying it.

    If all else fails, re-update.
