I've looked around the site and I see many many Brush and Font things for me to download (Thank the LORD!)

But I've downloaded some before and they don't turn out to be a good brush or I don't have the right version for them.

I was wondering if you guys could point out a few good brushes (maybe some good grunges) that would work with PS v.6

I would appreciate it much if someone could just give me a few hints to which of the ones posted are good for me to download.

THANKS! And I'm sorry if I post this in the wrong place. I'm still trying to read all the rules.

I use PS6 too. You can basically make a brush in PS6 out of just about anything.

If you see a texture, or even someone's face, that may make a good brush, all you have to do is basically the following:

    1. Open the file you want to use as a brush.
    2. Edit the image they way you want. This would mean removing the unwanted elements or applying filters, adjusting contrast and brightness, etc.
    3. Crop and size the image to the largest size you want it to be.
    4. Go to Edit | Define Brush and then give it a name.
    5. If you want to go for smaller sizes, resize and follow step 4 again.

This is also helpful when you want to "stamp" an image in. Be sure to save your brushes from the brush menu if you want to keep them.

    Hope this helps too.

When I first discovered this in Photoshop, I went nuts making different brushes. (Most of which ended up deleted due to poor quality or lack of use.)

You'll notice that the brushes only capture a grayscale image, but they can be used with any color.

    Have fun with it! :)

yeah your best choice would just be to get PS 7.0 or CS (has more/nicer brushes)

true... you're right, sucks when it does that
you could get someone with a later version make one 100% fill imprint on a transparent canvas
and you can make your own brush from that psd.
