K, my other comp died a week ago, the board was shot...

So i got a brand nerw mobo, case, psu, and AMD Athalon XP 3000+ Socket A Barton Core FSB 333.....

    my mobo type:

    ASRock K7S41

I connected everything, plug in the PSU, turned it on, but no video. you can hear the hdd powering up, you here the computer sound when it starts up...

I am using Onboard Video at the moment, it doesnt even work... I get nothing on my screen

Currently I just found that i have to change my motherboard's setting for the CPU's FSB

I do not even hear the beep when the RAM is out...

I want to buy pre-made computewrs from now on... This larger world of computing is becoming too much...

50 creds to the person who fixes this, any ideas??

I've been at this for 2 days now... Can think of nothing...

I can't vouch for anything in specific, I never built a computer with int GFX. maybe there is a jumper to switch, check the mobos instruction manual. if alll else fails buy a really cruddy GFX card.

EDIT: that athlon XPs have 333mhz of FSB, ARGH THAT IS HORID, you should have gotten a 64 3000+ like the same price but 1000mhz FSB and 64bit compatability, I have a 64 3k+ and I got it with a mobo for $130 about 2-3 months ago.

I doubt it is an issue with your psu but plug in another one and test it.
Is it a problem with your monitor or maybe your harddrive.

I dont have much of a clue. Best bet is to try the amd forums http://forums.amd.com

Agreed, try plugging it in again. Because I doubt it is the problem lying in your PSU.

OK i made my first build like last week and works perfect using AMD64,SLI GFX card, etc everything worked by following the MOBO manual - If its a dodgy mobo then the manual wont be as good as the ASUS one I got

I think you might have misplaced a wire - Make sure that every wire and little thing is connected the right way and is firmly connected (push every wire down to make sure none are up)

Try this first - first step making sure all the wires are in the right place then i probably see what happens later on if i get some researching going :D

Make sure the CPU is in it's socket right I had the same problem with my friend's computer. He didn't put it in the socket all the way so it had the same things wrong with it you do. I cleaned off the thermal paste he put on since he put way too much and I put some new thermal paste on putting only a thin layer this time and I made sure it was in the socket all the way then i tried turning it on and it worked,

ok, both boards are crappy, only 50 bucks... I might get my money back and buy a AMD64 one... then I would need Win XP 64 ed.....

Can you line me up with a good deal on motherboard/CPU combos? I already have a good case and power supply, and all my drives, Ram, and gfx card are fine.

Note: I have PC2700 DDR ram (512mb) so I woul like to use that on my board...

You dont need WinXP 64 to run it - All you need is a normal copy of WinXp and it will work

    I got the ASUS nForce4 A8n-SLI and the AMD64 3500 SKT 939 combo :D

Not sure where you live but i got my processor for like £140 and mobo for like £85 :)

Well go for the 939 pin ones - For future upgrading :D

That motherboard got tons of expansion for the future but some might suggest the MSI ones

Personally i like the ASUS but you would need a processor fan - I got the ThermalTake Golden Orb II and its amazing low noise and controlled by termperature :D Adjusts itself with the mobo :D
