Talk about some serious stereotyping :P

I don't skateboard, but stott seems to make some good points...and he seems to be right about most of the things he talks about

It's called a king pin, being sponsored, you should know that.

As far as what to get, it depends entirely on your style. It all depends on what you want to do. If you want to do a lot o flat, you don't want 54mm wheels, you want 50mm. You would also want Venture trucks for flat as well. If you are going to be hitting up a lot of rails, I'd go for Thunders, they are great. Better than worthless Grind King.

As far as sizing for a deck, the "sponsored" skater here gave you about the only sizes you're going to get a deck in. You can get a twig (I think that's Elements mini) if you are smaller, if not, nobody here can help you out. Want to know why? Because, you didn't give enough information on your style. You need to be more specific.

Be a little more specific and then you'll get some better advice.

Not meaning to sound c0cky or anything, I just don't want anybody going out and spending 100$ on a new setup and it being awful for them.[/b][/quote]
no it wasn't the king pin actually big guy
it was a little pin on the outside of the trucks.

you're wrong about the sizes of decks
they come in way more varieties than only in between one tenth of an inch

you're wrong about trucks. grind king g6's are not crap, they're pretty much the lightest you can buy

and finally stop trying to insinuate that i'm not sponsored. why would i lie about being sponsored to a bunch of people i don't know?

next time you reply to someone, try and not be dumb.

i just searched and you're right, but When i looked around about a year and a half ago they were over 100 which was rediculous, I wish i knew the price dropped.

EDIT: we were thinking about diferent types of bones swiss, i was thinking ceramics, you were thinking normal... ceramics are still overly expensive.

You're 5 foot 2, so you probably have smaller shoes size. Think about a 7.5" deck, any bigger than that and you might have trouble flipping it. If you do have larger feet like myself then you may want to go to a 7.75 - 8.0 wide deck. People say wider decks are for vert, but you have to think about the deck size compared to your foot size. You don't want to have a deck that feels like a opsicle stick if you have size 11 feet.

Stott is right in that AWS is a good deck, Habitat are equally as good, they are made by the same company. Bakers are alright as well. One thing to look out for are decks which are made in China using chinese wood such as Almost, Plan B, and Enjoi the wood they use are crap and break easily. They also lose their pop and concave really fast.

I have venture trucks, and they have lasted me about a year, the only other trucks I can comment on are grind kings which are great and what my buddy uses. Although I have noticed that it comes down to personal preference while talking with my friends about it. Same with anything else, you have to try different companies. We can't tell you much more than what size deck you should get because you will begin to develop your own preferences to different things as you progress.

I just broke my Mystery black heart deck which was a good deck but are probably too wide for you, now I have to decide on a new deck as well.
