Anyone excited about this game? Ive played the second one and I thought it was awsome. This new one has new playable levels, character creation, a story mode type thing, and best of all... 3 new playable characters. I got a demo disc with this game on it, so I have had a chance to play it a bit and the game is smooth. Graphics are good, gameplay is challenging but the learning curve is moderate. I say moderate because every character has different moves, different weapons, and a overall different feel. Takes a few rounds to get used to playing with different characters. It looks awesome, just wish it would ocme out on the Cube but it looks like I am stuck buying the PS2 version .
By keeping this game exclusive to one system, Namco is staying with the original idea for the game. What people dont realize is that Soul Calibur 2 was the only game in the franchise to launch as a multi-platform release. Soul Edge/Soul Blade was released on PS1 Soul Calibur was released on Dreamcast Soul Calibur 2 was a PS2/Xbox/GC Soul Calibur 3 is a PS2 exclusive.
meh, only one i liked was the gc/xbox version of sc2. They could make more money putting it on all 3, but oh well
Personally, from looking at everything I've seen so far, Soul Calibur III doesn't offer anything new except for an excellent challenge. Being an avid Soul Calibur II player, I think I may get it just for the challenge of versus the insane Computer.
this game needs to be for Xbox and Gamecube too, and needs to have online play so you dont get bored playing 1 player all the time.
