Customize Look Of Xp

I am loking for software like windowBlinds, but i dont want to install anything. i just want a program that runs as it is, like hijackthis does. i want something that can change windows themes to something different, like winblinds (but without installing anything) i will pay 50 credits if i can find software like i want.

 

I think that is really ahrd to find since those programs do alot.

 

i know, but is there any way without installing anything to add new themes to XP? or something that is made by microsoft?

 

themes from Microsoft. Should not have to install any apps, just the theme itself. Not positive though.

 

did you try the uxtheme hack? it's up in the pinned thread

 

those programs use up ALOT of ram so i find them pretty pointless, you should try the offical windows themes like what Hydro said

Q: How do I unlock the uxtheme.dll?

A: We will swtich the default uxtheme.dll with a modified uxtheme.dll by following these steps

1) Download the modified uxtheme.dll [Here] and keep it somewhere that you'll remeber.

2) Download the replacer and extract the .zip to a folder called replacer.

3) Run replacer.cmd. A black command prompt window should appear

4) Browse to C:\Windows\system32 and find uxtheme.dll. Drag this file into the command prompt window. Press enter.

5) Drag in the unlocked uxtheme.dll from the desktop into the command prompt window. Press enter.

6) Confirm the replacement and wait for Replacer to finish. Press any key when prompted.

7) Reboot.

8) Now you are ready to run non-microsoft themes(Visual Styles).

 

Gonna be very hard to find that mate. I have Windows Vista myself, its very good.

you just put them in the folder of: c;\windows\resources\themes\

and it will show up when you go to the desktop properties. go to appearances pane, and click the dropdown on the first one, the theme should be there.

Hmm... I dont even put the themes into my windows resources file, I just double click on the theme file after I download it, and then accept the settings. Anyone know the difference between that and putting it into c:windows\resources\themes\?

Oh yeah and I am having this problem, the text on my icons is somewhat highlighted around the letters. Any way to make it transparent?
